Van Thiel & Co.
Our process is born with a kiln dried solid oak frame that has been machined for durability. With the help of subtle components like glue, screws, and corner blocks, the suspension is then married to each frame for comfort and durability. The inner fillings start with a generous portion of high resilient urethane foam, and a layer of white synthetic fiber batting - all of which are hypoallergenic. The outer fillings are initiated with a burlap fabric covering followed by a layer of fiber batting and finally, the decorative fabric.
EIGHT WAY HAND TIED
High-end comfort begins here. We use hourglass shaped coil springs, which are secured to a base of interwoven webbing. The springs for each seat are chosen based on gauge and height, and are strategically placed and secured to the webbing. Next, the springs are tied across the top with durable synthetic twine and are then pulled flat to create a level platform. What we are left with is copied springs which have eight knots holding it in place.
