Dallas Fire House #43 Turned into Modern Industrial Loft

Dallas Cowboys Give Fire Station a Makeover

Architectural Designer Kim Lewis was given the challenge of remodeling a fire station by Dallas Cowboys and Ford—specifically, transforming Dallas Fire House No. 43 into a functional space while incorporating an industrial loft vibe.

Industrial Style Furniture

We were thrilled to see the ways in which Lewis used many of pieces found on our site, like the striking Angora Dining Table, which she accented with the Oxford Industrial Loft Dining Chairs with their architecturally inspired steel tubing and graced by simply contoured canvas. She also added a dining bench of her own invention, woven from vintage fire hoses that accents the rustic design of the Angora Dining Table.

One of our favorite uses of our furniture can be seen in the placement of the Element Industrial Media Console, with its strong iron frame and clean design—it adds an element of modernity to the firehouse’s lounge area while keeping with the overall vintage industrial feel of an old firehouse. With its Rider-black leather and brass nailheads, the Larkin Sofa brings a bit of the contemporary, and casual feel to the space. Once again, mixing the rustic with the industrial, Lewis chose the Angora 60” coffee table to enrich the room, and keep with the overall feel of the room.

The accent pieces that Lewis chose also help bring the overall space together. Adding the Bosco Magazine Rack to the space provides a perfect finishing touch while also providing additional storage—something all places need. The use of the Maxwell Tesla Coil Antiqued Pewter Floor Lamp with it’s stunning design, and stainless steel antique pewter finish, casts both light and shadows in any space. Although it can’t be seen in the photos, Lewis also added the Industrial Adjustable Height Crank Side Table 24”, with it’s shapely legs and wood-handled hand-crank, adding an air of vintage industrial realism to this functional space.

When looking to create a similar look in your own space, focus on mixing elements of design, just as Lewis did, from pieces made of reclaimed wood to others that are made entirely of metal. No matter what you choose, your space will be transformed.
